Callander
Known as the Gateway to the Highlands has the Rob Roy Centre and lots of shops and restaurants. This busy wee town near two rivers is on the edge of the Highlands yet near the central belt of Scotland. A trip through the crags and hills here gives a hint of the glens of the national park.
Loch Lubnig
dark peaty water with soaring hills; this beautiful place offers a chance for a picnic, a short walk along the loch edge or a visit to the Kilmahog weaving centre, with its famous highland bull and his calves, plus the weaving centre and shop/coffee stop
Falls of Dochart
where does all the water come from? Awesome cascades of water in a secluded glen. In a trip of outstanding natural beauty, skirt Loch Earn, drive over Dukes Pass to see the charming wee village, Aberfoyle, with its Discovery Centre and if there is time a visit to the only Lake in Scotland, Lake of Menteith, with its hotel for afternoon tea.
